Service Description

Come and join us on a six week course at the Quarry learning all about how to grow and use Dye plants. Plants have been used for thousands of years to Dye cloth and make natural paints and inks. At each of the six sessions we will ' cook up' a different natural dye over a fire and look at how to grow and look after a range of different plants which will be used to create a Dye garden at the chapel. Participants can also take plants home to plant in their own gardens and dye pieces of cloth. It's going to be really good fun with lots of opportunities to do practical tasks and all based in the garden area- with cover provided in the unlikely event it may rain! The course has been designed to support young people who are living with anxiety and currently not attending school. It will be led by Martin Conyers from the Wild Acres Community Project and The Ernest Cook Trust. The course is open to anyone between the ages of 10 and 18. We are happy to meet beforehand to talk about any concerns you may have. Please sign up via website. We are dying to meet you !!!
