Step into the world of spinning in this hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to use a drop spindle to turn fibre into yarn. Perfect for complete beginners, this session will guide you through the basics, from drafting fibre to building your first length of spun yarn. You will get plenty of time to practise and find your rhythm as you spin. All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with your own hand-spun yarn. We’ll also cover how to source fibre and a simple introduction to different fibre types and sheep breeds, so you know what to look for when choosing your own materials.
