Summer Creative Sessions for Young People & Parents/Carers

Service Description
Is your child currently out of school or only partially attending? This gentle 7-week course is designed to offer a calm, welcoming space where young people and their parent or carer can be creative together. Each session introduces simple, engaging art activities using high-quality materials in a way that feels very different from school. There’s no right or wrong way to take part, nothing needs to be perfect, and unfinished work is completely fine. The focus is on encouraging creativity, building confidence slowly, and simply spending enjoyable time together outside the house. Through painting, printmaking, clay, and textiles, participants can explore creativity side by side while discovering the calming and grounding benefits of making. Subsidised prices include all materials and refreshments for both parent/carer and child. Sessions include: Finding Textures: Fun & Easy Printmaking Explore texture, pattern, and mark-making through playful printmaking techniques using found objects and simple materials. Big Fruit Shapes & Colourful Acrylic Painting Create bold, expressive paintings inspired by fruit and colour while learning simple acrylic painting techniques in a relaxed way. Clay Heads & Bowls Use clay to sculpt imaginative heads and handmade bowls, exploring shape, texture, Our subsidised prices cover materials and refreshments for both of you. Finishing Clay Creations Continue developing and decorating clay pieces, adding detail, personality, and colour. Silk Painting Experiment with flowing colour and fabric in a calming silk painting session full of movement and pattern. Landscapes Create a landscape artwork inspired by nature, colour, and mood Reverse Perspective Explore playful ways of seeing and drawing space as we make an optical illusion We know that starting a new course can be very difficult, if it would be helpful for you and your young person to come and see the space we will be working in to reduce anxiety we would be very happy to meet you before the class to familiarise yourself with the space and atmosphere.
